The Car: a financial killer

car, high cost, financial killer, contrarian

When I look around at the people here in Germany plenty of them are following the classical trend of buying a new car, keeping it for 2 to 3 years and then selling it to buy a new car once again.
One blogger that I follow is Barry Ritholtz which are running the blog "The Big Picture". The guy is very reasonable when it comes to many things however last week in my opinion he was pushing the wrong things.

E.ON.

E.On, a German energy provider

The second stock that I bought in March 2012 was E.On. back then it was an AG but now they have changed it into the European company form of an SE which will lead a better tax overview for the companies that have a large involvement in several EU countries.

Contrarian rules

In the Contrarian Investment Strategies: The Next Generation by David Dreman there were a set of rules that I wrote down. To understand these rules one really must read the very excellent book which I highly recommend. Especially one should read it after The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham because then you will receive more figures, values and examples to what Mr. Graham was talking about.

Monthly New Investment: Feb 2013

The salary for February finally arrived which means that a new stock can be bought. I do not have a huge salary due to that I protect the finances of my company and instead a live a pretty low cost life which makes it possible for me to save almost half of my income. At least that will be my monthly target with a total saving target of 15000 euro per year.

Investment Mistakes Made 2012

I find that it is important to list the mistakes that I make. Each year I will therefore conclude with a post concerning the mistakes that I made.
