Visited Shops 6/4-13

This time I went for a walk on Kurfürstendamm. This was the nicest shopping street in west Berlin and even today several of the more expensive stores are located on this street.

The shopping bags that I saw were mainly from: Nike (never walked past the store though), Karstadt, KaDeWe (actually belongs to Karstadt today), H&M, C&A, Görtz & Mango

Analysis of Associated British Foods

Company: Associated British Foods

Business:  Is a conglomerate working in the field of sugar, agriculture, retail, grocery and ingredients. I bought the stock due to that I was so impressed by their retail part. They are currently benefitting from European tolls of sugar that should have lasted until 2015 but they might be expanded to 2017. Even individual EU countries are actively pushing up price on sugar and lately Finland has been active there with increasing taxes.

Active in: Depends highly on the field but they are mainly based in the UK (as well as Australia due to past), and the rest of EU. They have plenty of suppliers in Asia. The activity is slightly different based on which part we are talking about. For instance retail is well established in the UK but have only just started to expand into EU with a few shops.

P/E: 26.9

Dead Battery

Today was one of those few days when I had to go to work by car. I arrived to my car and pushed the door opener on the key and got the reassuring sound of car doors opening up for its master. Sat down, put the key in and turned it around... nothing... it was as dead as a rat on a stick.

It has been a very hard winter in Berlin this year. The last time I used my car was two months ago and the moment before then was then an additional three months ago. So I wasn´t surprised about it but still I had not calculated with that happening when I walked over to the car today.
I managed to stop a very friendly guy in VW with two children in the back and he helped me out to get my car running! Thanks unknown VW owning Berliner!

New stock added

I did not manage to keep my fingers away from the cookie jar and therefore bought 100 shares of Intel at a price (including the trading fee) of 16.444 € per share. I discovered how good this company was some time ago but was always forced to buy more of my old stocks and could therefore not jump in as a shareholder. Now I could and I did. I will return with the analysis of Intel in the coming days which will hopefully explain why I bought it.

Analysis of Asian Bamboo

I´m sorry for this but I will start presenting my new analysis results with the company that I already have. It will be a bit boring for you guys maybe but I need to see how far off I have been with my choices.

Company: Asian Bamboo

Business:  A Chinese company that are registered on the German stock market. Main business are sale of bamboo in every form possible meaning as wood, as food, as textile fibres.

Active in: Mainly in China, which is current primary market.

P/E: -1.9
