Dividend from Eniro: March 2015

Eniro, a Swedish internet search company

This is not a real dividend but stems from the sales of the right issues that were given to me. Hopefully I am learning each day to become a better investor and for me with Eniro it was a matter of watering the weed if I would have joined. I will see how the company progresses for the next couple of quarters to see if it will be worth to increase my holding again. Now I do, hopefully, always demand good results from a company before I push in more money.

I received 2,550 rights issues and they were sold to the price of 0.27 SEK which gave me in the end 74.50 € as cash on my account. I will add this as if it were a dividend paid out.

To find out more about Eniro please visit analysis of Eniro 2015.

MüRe annual report 2014

The share price was circulating around the zero which was in a way bad news since the rest of the market was higher. I must say that this report left me with a bit of a bitter taste...

Dividend from DBAG: March 2015

DBAG, a Germany private equity company

Deutsche Beteiligungs AG made a massive pay out this year since it became ordinary + extra payment so the total size became 2 € per share.

I currently hold 100 shares in DBAG which means that I received a total dividend payment of 200 € in cash to my broker account. This gives a YoC of 9.93% which I find very impressive! Well done DBAG! Oh, and I paid no taxes on it since I am still within my 801 € of free capital gains.

DBAG annual report 2014

DBAG, annual report, 2014, front page

This was one of those moments... When I did not follow up as I should have done. The report has been around for a long time and I have simply failed to report on it. I thought that I read it and I am certain that I read about their decision to shuffle out money to me which made me pretty excited and therefore I assume that also the market got excited upon the release of the report. What was then in it?

The share price of E.On has lately been going down, down, down and no wonder when the clowns keep running the puppet show. I no longer remember exactly what the market response was but no matter what it was it should have been down by a significant figure! What was then in the report?

Stock sold March 2015: Asian Bamboo

Asian Bamboo, yet another criminal Chinese company

I finally decided to put on the trousers as they would say in Germany and I sold my entire Asian Bamboo investment. I have many times written that I should have sold it a long time ago and for tax reasons it did not make any sense to sell them but today enough was enough.

Back in December 2014 two of their creditors demanded their money back and since apparently nothing has happened they today demanded Asian Bamboo insolvent. Nothing good will come out of that and the latest preliminary results for Asian Bamboo for 2014 and outlook for 2015 were appalling and they were expecting even lower revenue and are completely stopping to sell products and keep preparing for them becoming a construction company... So the bunk story continues.

Asian bamboo joined my stock portfolio as my fourth investment and it was bought on the second month (5th of April 2012, holding time 34 months) that I took the decision to become an investor. I no longer remember if they had published their annual report for 2011 or not but my investment was based on the annual report from 2010 and the years before showing a very successful company.

Adidas annual report 2014

Adidas, annual, report, 2014, front page

The share price increased at some point to over +4% on the day of the release. I did not see any surprise in the report since part of me buying the shares were based on the highly improved sales in Germany of the new world champion cloths. Once one becomes investor in a company the progress of that company is much more intensively followed and I must say that I have become more impressed with Adidas and all the channels they use to reach the consumers then I had never thought about or seen before. I guess that is part of the problem of getting married with a company. Anyway... what was then in this annual report?

Extra investment March 2015: ETF Austria

Deutsche Bank, the issuer of my ETF Austria fund

I am now moving further with the ETF strategy and I decided to buy an Austrian index fund. There were three offered to me. All of them had fees around 0.3%. One belonged to Blackrock and paid out dividends, one belonged to Commerzbank and the third one belongs to Deutsche Bank.

After deciding that I do not care about dividends I then could pick either of the two funds since I am a shareholder in both companies so no matter what the fees I paid would come back to myself (hopefully!) but the Commerzbank one had total fees of 0.3% and Deutsche Bank had 0.25% so in the end it became Deutsche Bank.

The Austrian index is today almost as pushed down as it was around the start of the financial crisis. The reason for this is two fold.

1. Their biggest market cap company is a bank. Just like here in Germany the investors have still not regained the trust in the banks (and it is also correct of them) which has made sure to keep the index low.
2. The second biggest market cap company is an oil and gas company (in a close race with a machine/plant engineering company). Since a long time that entire industry has had a low valuation and since last autumn many of them were pushed down one step further.

Austria being part of the the German speaking countries have a similar efficiency please see Working population in various countries for some graphs. I have therefore no fear for that Austria will recover, they will and then I now will have a small part of that recovery.

The latest news that they allowed a bank to go bust I also find to be excellent news since the banks will be forced to shape up their business if they want to remain.

So I bought 30 parts in ETF Austria (ISIN LU0659579063 | WKN DBX0KJ) at a total cost of 1,113 € including fees or 37.09 € per part.

Dividend from Intel: March 2015

Intel, logo, 2015, an American chip producer

The Q1 dividend from Intel was recently paid out to my broker account. I have now also finally changed the settings so that my broker is not wasting poor trees for printing out and sending me all the papers and instead I am getting everything electronically. Hurrah! Oh, and it of course also saves money to my broker which means, in the long run, money to me as a shareholder.

They paid this time out 0.24 USD per share which means that I received for my 100 shares 24 USD which got converted into 21.33 €. From this was taken 15% taxes so 3.20 € and I ended up with 18.13 € on my account as cash to be invested elsewhere.

Stocks of Interest: March 2015

Stocks of Interest, February, 2015, contrarian

Last month I did manage to fill up my positions in Talanx as well as Tessenderlo so the only still "open" positions are the Russian ETF and of course Eniro but they will get no more money until I see a wind of change.

I had no issues averaging up in Talanx and Tessenderlo which opens up more companies that I should average up in such as for instance Enel and Intel, both of which had small initial investments, but I feel no stress in doing so and in the end... investing is a marathon and not a sprint.

Summary of February 2015

Summary, February, 2015

I am tired at the moment and it comes from me having lost my habit of studying. I simply do not perform as well as I did in the past and the memory I had of how easy it was to study is disappearing. It is not due to difficult material it is simply due to that I have lost my study routine and I have too many other things in life that takes and must be given time. I will not be chocked if I fail the examination in two respectively three weeks from now.

In the company I also have much to do at the moment. Preparation of patents, articles, presentations, products, reports, applying for more governmental funding... all of it is currently a fog and for the first time ever I was forced to sit down and write a to-do list for the next couple of months so that I hopefully will not fail one of the deadlines.

To be able to start the company I once upon a time borrowed money from my kind brother. Now during February it hit me that it is unacceptable that I am building up a stock portfolio when he could be doing that for the very same money. Even worse is that he is an active investor so he would not waste it on useless consumption. I have therefore added to my target for 2015 to pay off that loan this year and I will make sure that my brother gets a nice Christmas bonus. I will still try my very best to keep up with the current monthly investment strategy (~2,000 € / month) but in the end of 2015 I may be forced to push it down to be able to make the repayment to my brother. If he reads this then I am sorry that I have not been quicker in paying you back.

In the end of March I am off to India again for probably the last time. I will this time travel around a little so that I get out of Delhi and get to see the country side in India. I am very much looking forward to this even though the schedule will be very tight and exhausting.
