Summary of March 2015

Summary, March, 2015

The first half of the semester is now done and I have finished the two exams. one of the exams were 5 points and the other one was 10 points. As of yet I have only received the result back from the 10 points exam and I made it so that is a relief. As I mentioned in my previous report I seemed to be out of my study habit but during those last couple of weeks I seemed to regain it and I became more efficient again. I will be very surprised if I did not manage the 5 points exam also.

I had a talk to the study counsellor and I then found out that what I am doing now is actually not needed. I already have far too many academic points for doing what I now do. I need to finish 60 points in business economy and then I will have my bachelor in business economy. So what I do now I will count as a practise to get back in the student life. I directly signed up for 45 points next semester so I hope that I can have this finished in Spring 2016.

I am behind schedule with a lot of things due to the two exams and due to the preparations for as well as going on my trip to India. So sorry to the you guys that wants to have analysis from me I will get around to doing them but please bare with me a little bit longer.

Right now I am sitting in my hotel room in Delhi writing this. When I arrived to India around one week ago I went to Ahmedabad. It was a bit of a chock to go from 6 degrees in Berlin to 42 degrees in Ahmedabad but besides from that it was ok. It is really disturbing how well one gets treated here in India as a foreigner and during the meeting I felt like a rock star since the students kept running up to me and wanted to take pictures with me that at some point it even became exhausting. The meeting went very well though. I held my presentation and I was the chairman for one session and I even held a motivational speech at the valedictory. Inaugural and valedictory is always extreme in India to the point of being silly.

When I came back to Delhi I got serious problems with my stomach as well as a fever. Unfortunately due to that I was forced to cancel my presentation in Delhi. I am still now during the recovery phase from this issue but I no longer have a fever so that is at least something. I usually have some medication with me such as active carbon etc and this time I completely forgot to pack all those things like the amateur traveller that I apparently am.

For a long time I have wanted to make a tailor made suit and this time I decided to go for it! So they have taken all my measurements and I picked a nice material that was acceptably priced. It is insane how much one can pay for the high quality fabrics and I would have loved to go a bit better in quality but the colour of the fabric was more important to me than the price. I will pick it up the day before I leave India. The total price that I will pay will be around 170 €. I hope that it will be worth it.

Enough of the blah, blah so here we go!

Invested, value, March, 2015

There has been some changes of which the most dramatic one is that I finally sold Asian Bamboo. I have for a long time claimed that I should have done it and I have been sucking on my thumbs which is never good. I also made the second investment into the Russian ETF and I started up a new investment in an Austrian ETF. The total invested value is now up at: 57,877 €.

Current, value, portfolio, March, 2015

March was yet another good month and my stock portfolio is now up at a value of: 63,597 €. The unrealised profit is now up at 5,719 €.

March, 2015, Me, versus, DAX

There does not seem to be anything that can stop the DAX bull at the moment. DAX is now at 12,058 points which is an increase of 5.7% from last month. My portfolio increased with only 4.4% so DAX beat me again. Now during spring / early summer it will become very hard to beat DAX since it does not adjust for paid out dividends which of course takes place in my portfolio and each paid out dividend the share price drops with the same value. I therefore hope to be able to beat DAX sometime in June again at the earliest.

Conclusion: I am very pleased with the result this month and several of my holdings have started to improve which I hope will be the first push for getting the ball rolling and I need the ball to roll so that I will manage to hit my target of 75,000 € in the end of this year plus paying back the debt to my brother. I do not really talk about my yearly targets but I of course have them and I try to stay ahead of them. By having 75,000 € invested in the end of 2015 I will be more then one year ahead of my planned schedule and then I would push for 100,000 € for the end of 2016 which would make me two years ahead of schedule. But plans are plans and reality is what comes so let us see how things work out.

Good that you like my bla-bla Lisa! Yes, I am feeling a bit better health-wise but mentally I am very tired and I really, really only want to go home now. India drains you and have now started to make me pretty furious also. I will most likely write a small or why not long article concerning that.

Happy Easter!
