Re-analysis of Stocks of Interest

Magic, Electric, Mixer, Beat, by hand

As hopefully all of you have noticed some of the analysis of the companies on the Stocks of Interest list are not freshly analysed based on the annual reports from 2013 but instead the analytical data stretches back to the annual reports from 2012. The next step will now be to go over the entire list with fresh analytical data to see if they should still remain on the list or if they should be kicked out.

From feeling I would say that a couple of the companies will be kicked out. Most likely due to that 2013 was a bad year and they ended up having negative earnings but future will tell. The reason why I claim this is because there often is a reason for a low P/E and in many cases that comes from poor quarter reports during the year which has then pushed down the share price. It is however not always the case and those are the interesting ones to pursue.

The markets rallied yesterday and one of the companies I considered buying jumped up over 12%, the second one almost 9% and the third one almost 2%. Simply too much joy! I give it a day or two to see what will happen next and I hope that the happiness turns sour so that I can make my investment soon.

Stocks of Interest: September 2014

list, names, long

Now that Google drive is up and running it will be much easier for me to make a summary. I will try to make this summary in the beginning of each month regarding the most interesting contrarian stocks because I tend to make my monthly investment during the first or second week.

Summary of August 2014

Summary, August, 2014, stock portfolio, contrarian

Part of the first week of August I was still on vacation so that was great. Now I have been back to work for three weeks and I have started to organize the company a little for the future. Since I started to work with Google drive here on the blog I also decided to implement it for my company. I wanted since a long time to implement a NAS but we do not have a homogenized operating system in the company so it simply would not have worked out.

Therefore I decided to start using the Google drive for all the things are of little importance but still so important that everyone have to have access to it and can use it. For instance sending offers and invoices to customers. It took time to bring everything up there but now it is there and it will make life easier... only bad thing is that I have not managed to find a way to "lock" a document and it is very, very easy to just start writing the invoice to a customer without first making a new copy of the document and renaming it...

Also for the blog there are more spread sheets to be made but at the moment I feel a bit tired and will therefore put that on ice but the kicked out list must be made and an excellent company list should also be made.

But now down to business:

Slow day today...

Ocea, Sea, Rocky, shore, coastline

Today I am having a bit of a slow day and therefore the only thing I have the energy to do is to make the update of the analysis of Aksa based on the discussions that I had with Vega in the comments below on that analysis.

My problem was that they reported the quantity of shares as being 18,500 million but the capital value of the shares were 185 million lira and by the look of things that is then also the quantity of shares. I find that strange but still it appears to be like that. The quantity of shares is always crucial in each analysis and what goes for anything in this world... bad data in = even worse data out, unless you are extremely lucky but few are on a consistent enough basis.

Now I will start working on the inside trading so that I can publish that tomorrow and then I must make a kladdkaka and later on this afternoon a lasagne. In the last couple of weeks I have also started to read normal books (= non finance books) again and I hope to enjoy this afternoon with reading a bit more especially since the skies above Berlin are filled with rain heavy clouds.
